WILLIAM GODWIN QC

William is legal member of the FIDIC Updates Task Group, preparing the new editions of the Silver, Yellow and Red Books.

William is a specialist construction and engineering lawyer (barrister) at 3 Hare Court Chambers in London with over 25 years’ experience. William has successfully conducted numerous training courses on the FIDIC forms and is accredited by FIDIC as an instructor. William is a regular speaker at the FIDIC international users’ conferences. In 2013 Wiley-Blackwell published his International Construction Contracts: a Handbook including a commentary on the FIDIC contractor-design forms. William holds a doctorate from Oxford University and is an arbitration panel member of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. He is an approved adjudicator of the English Technology and Construction Bar Association.

MARTIN SMITH

Martin is a chartered civil engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the construction of major works and large infrastructure projects worldwide.

He has particular expertise in effectively managing time and budget risk and design systems for maximising programme and quality control in a wide range of projects. Martin is managing director of Matrics Consult Ltd and holds a Bsc (hons) degree from Manchester University Institute of Science and Technology. He is a member of the UK institution of CivilEngineers and the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects.

ANDREW BRICKELL

Andrew is a civil engineer with more than 45 years’ international experience including working on major projects in over 15 countries. He has particular expertise in procurement and management of infrastructure projects.

A regular speaker and instructor on international contracting including FIDIC, Andrew is professionally qualified in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. ndrew is currently director of project management for Asia Pacific with New Zealand-based consultancy MWH. In that role he monitors and coaches performance improvements by project managers on nearly 4,000 current client projects through a network of senior project managers.
